Introducing The Beeple Honey Collective

For the last 12 months’ Common Unity has supported a group of local dads to become beekeepers. Dads who are committed to creating change for themselves and their families.  We call them our bee daddies.  We have provided training and tools and employed Al, a local beekeeper to be their mentor.  Last year they returned over 100kgs of honey back to children and families in the Lower Hutt area – but we would like to employ them to do much more. We call this project our Beeple Honey Collective.

This super sweet honey enterprise will employ four locals this spring, do wonderful thing for supporting our urban bees who are having such a tough time, provide honey for breakfast clubs in low decile schools and enable not only the good work of Common Unity to continue to but also potentially provide resources for other local food projects in other communities.

Our purpose - To enhance the well being of communities by the action of preserving our bees.
