Sewing workshops

Join us & make your own

Come and join our friendly sewing workshops. They are all about having fun and trying something new. We don't judge wonky lines!

Most of our workshops are great for beginners. You'll need a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine and we will show you the rest. If you're an absolute beginner and never used a machine before, we have a one-on-one workshop just for you.

Give it a go and say:

"I sew made it!"

All classes are held at the ReMakery on Waiwhetu Road, Lower Hutt.

Our fabrics

If possible we will include fabrics or have it available for a small fee.

We take good quality fabrics that may have ended up in the landfill, and re-use them to create new and beautiful things. Old curtains turn into bags, retro sheeting into baby bibs, other fabrics become  produce bags - just some of the things we’ve made.

We do not always have enough stock to provide fabric for all workshops. Details are provided with the workshop information.

It’s a community thing

We want you to have a great time in our workshops. We also want to support our community through up-skilling and creating potential employment opportunities.

Many thanks to our volunteers and time bankers. Behind the scenes, hours go into preparing our workshops and fabrics. It's appreciated!
