"Internductions" Spring 2021

Elise Ranck

Elise has stuck with us as an intern since the beginning of 2021! How lucky are we?

Elise joined up as one of our inaugural interns following time volunteering with our farming sessions so has had the opportunity to be involved in the many moving parts of our various farming projects over this time. These days she spends her time in our main production farm, Umu i te Mamaku and in particular has started supporting our lead farmer, Phoebe on our main harvest days.

Elise’s input, commitment, knowledge and enthusiasm is an example of the beautiful community of people we are grateful to have around us, as we learn and grow together and discover how we can create a resourceful, resilient and connected community one carrot at a time.

Elise’s Focus Area: Supporting our main production farm, Umu i te Mamaku and our farm team in general.

I’ve recently come home to Welly after some time living in Australia and Germany and I’m really stoked and grateful to be joining this amazing whānau as an intern. I'm excited about creating alternative food systems that are built by and for the people in our communities, in a way reconnects us with our beautiful mother, Earth!

Courtenay Scott-Hill

Kia Ora, I’m Courtenay.

Developing community managed, localised food systems which strengthen our connection to Mother Earth and each other is something I’ve been passionate about for a while now! I truly believe that community and our precious Earth are the two most important things in life, and Common Unity’s vision really resonates with this belief. It’s great to be here!

Courtenays focus area: School and Agrihood sessions, and general support around the ReMakery.
